About Ben
Ben was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2006. He served his first term on the Judiciary Committee where he quickly recognized the value of working with, and respecting the positions, of all of his colleagues…not just those in his political party. He also knows the importance of taking the issues and the work seriously, but not himself. Disagreeing without being disagreeable has been a keystone to Ben’s ability to work cooperatively with legislators from around the state to pass important and meaningful legislation, that he has sponsored, during his 12 years in the legislature.Ben currently serves on the Economic Matters Committee, where his 35 years as a small business owner/operator provide him with the important background, experience and perspective to understand the subject matter that comes before his committee. He currently serves as the chairman of the Subcommittee on Banking, Economic Development, Science and Technology.Ben is also a member of multiple subcommittees, as well as, joint House and Senate committees.
